Stepping Up As Museums Closed Down: Digital-Engagement in the Age of COVID
Recorded On: 06/03/2020
When museums closed their doors as COVID-19 advanced, digital-engagement teams found all eyes on them like never before: internally, externally, and to a degree that sparked both challenge and opportunity. The job became not just to show off the museum, but to be the museum-to digitally open all that was closed; to serve audiences that were hungrier than ever for content, connection, and even comfort; and to constantly respond to evolving institutional priorities and audience needs. Join the California Academy of Sciences and other institutions' DE teams for a discussion of the triumphs that made it all worthwhile, the experiments we'd rather forget, and how lessons learned from all of it may impact future work.
